Guiding Philosophy

At Albannach, we are all about the dogs. ​

Their welfare come first and it is our only principle.

​

​Every dog we breed is part of our family; our puppies are born in a dedicated room within our house and once they are starting to move around, we move them to the lounge and kitchen area for them to start exploring the indoors and outdoors under supervision. This is a time when they learn interaction with each-other, humans and our other dogs, a time filled with plenty of playtime.   

 

We have gained many friends from owners of our puppies as we are genuinely interested in their development. We regularly get updates and photos of how the little ones are doing, how they are growing up and how they keep their owners busy. 

 

​Scotties aren't for everyone: they have their own character - they aren't lap dogs, don't get on well with little children who cross the line. They are broody, stubborn, destructive and can be hard work.

 

​But any owner of a Scottie can tell you it is worth it for the joy they bring you.

Note that registering is not a promise of a puppy; we go through a thorough process of matching puppies with new 'parents', based on the nature of the puppy and what you can offer them. Remember also that we are small scale breeders which means that we won't have litters on a regular basis. We might also be able to get you in touch with other breeders working on a similar basis.
